Welcome from the Director of Admission

I first set foot on the campus of Verde Valley School in the summer of 2003.  My husband Andy and I had just completed a year of travel, stopping off in a number of countries and dozens of states in the US.  VVS was like nothing we’d seen during that journey, and almost instantly it felt like home. 

Some of the reasons I love VVS:  an open-minded student body where being compassionate and smart are pretty high on the coolness quotient; a rigorous IB program that is not only globally recognized, but which champions inquiry, balance and risk-taking; and a chance every afternoon to ride your horse, climb a nearby mountain or play soccer on one of the most beautiful pitches in the country.

For more than six decades Verde Valley School has been working toward a pretty progressive future.  Our founders envisioned a place where young people could come from all over the world to live, work and study together, and build a better world.  It’s something I can tell you a lot about, but you can’t fully feel it until you take those first steps onto campus.  I invite you to make the trip to Sedona to see and feel a great approach not just to education, but to life.
