Originally from New Mexico, Taylor moved to Oregon after high school where he earned a bachelor’s degree in French from Willamette University. After his undergraduate studies, Taylor spent one year teaching English in Martinique in the French Antilles. He then spent three years earning a Masters degree in teaching French as a foreign language from the University of Stendhal in Grenoble, France. Apart from being passionate about speaking and learning the French language, Taylor loves the outdoors and traveling. He has visited over ten countries in the past five years and enjoys trail running, hiking, backpacking, cycling, and cross country and downhill skiing.
Taylor strongly believes that speaking a foreign language is an essential part of a student’s personal and professional development. The VVS academics, which value intercultural understanding and world citizenship, make teaching French here a great pleasure for Taylor. This, coupled with the vibrant extracurricular and outdoor programs at VVS, make it a perfect fit.
