Natalie grew up in New England before moving to California to attend a small, academically rigorous, arts-focused boarding school. Her experience inspired her to find a college that shared similar values: experiential and self-directed learning in a small tight-knit community which lead her to Prescott College. After falling in love with the Southwestern landscape, she has spent the past 9 years here and has experience teaching in expeditionary learning and college prep environments.
Here at VVS Natalie teaches American History and upper-level IB World History classes. In her classes, she hopes to create meaningful connections between students and past events using a variety of inquiry-based and student-centered approaches. Her ultimate goal is to provide students with the tools and inspiration to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners. Along with teaching, she is a co-dorm parent for Motel dorm and advisor. Outside of work, Natalie enjoys swimming, her dog, Clover Gary, and exploring the world with her young son, Finn.
