Tamara Nydell Cook graduated from Verde Valley School as a four-year senior in 1983. She joined the Board of Trustees in 1996 for two terms and rejoined in 2012. She is an equity shareholder with the Phoenix, Arizona law firm of Renaud Cook Drury Mesaros, PA. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arizona and her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. She received additional training from The Hague Academy of International Law and is a member of the Order of Barristers. She has been admitted to practice in Arizona State Courts, Federal Courts of Arizona, and the United States Supreme Court, and has tried approximately 40 cases to verdict. Her practice focuses on employment law, commercial transportation industry: defense litigation, federal and state safety compliance/audit support, products liability, personal injury and insurance coverage. She has authored or co-authored over 20 legal articles and has been a public speaker/presenter on at least 30 occasions to various professional groups on a variety of legal and practice topics. Tamara is the chair of her law firm’s transportation group and is the vice chair for Arizona for the ABA TIPS Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee. She is a former member of the ALFA International Board of Directors, former Chair of the ALFA Transportation Practice Group (and presently serves as the liaison to the ATA for ALFA International) and is also a member of the ALFA International Women’s Initiative Practice Group, and ALFA Labor and Employment Practice Group.
